Hydrotestors has designed and manufactured tubing and casing pressure testing tools for over 40 years. We can build either a single hose or double hose tools for testing the complete tubular body including the connections, or smaller length connection only tools. We have also developed speciality tools for completing Bottom Hole Assembly tests, Anchors, Frac Sleeves, Frac Ports, Gas Lift Mandrels, Injection Mandrels, Crossovers, etc.
TWO HOSE TOOLS OR SINGLE HOSE TOOLS FOR THE COMPLETE TUBULAR BODY
- Tubing sizes are 2 3/8” (60.3 mm), 2 7/8” (73 mm), 3 ½” (88.9 mm), 4” (101.6 mm), and 4 ½” (114.3 mm)
- Casing sizes are 4 ½” (114.3 mm), 5” (127 mm), 5 ½” (139.7 mm), and 7” (177.8 mm)
TWO HOSE TOOLS FOR CASING CONNECTIONS
- Casing Sizes – 7” (177.8 mm), 7 5/8” (193.7 mm), 8 5/8” (219.1 mm), 9 5/8” (244.5 mm), 10 ¾” (273.1 mm), and 11 ¾” (298.5 mm)
Benefits of two-hose testing tools
Having two pressure hoses is an important feature as it allows tool operators to establish a seal with the packers prior to applying the pressure to the tubular.
This advantage becomes very apparent when pressure testing that has significant scale build-up or is severely rod cut or corroded. Utilizing these testing procedures is a cost-effective solution to prolonging the life of tubing and casing.
The testing bar tool can also drift the tubular and connection after being made-up. The testing tool sits below the next connection and has to pass through the next joint of pipe and the connection before the next pressure test is completed, ensuring that the tubular has not been crimped and the connection is not pinned in from over torque.
This system can, in some cases, also test bottom hole equipment like packers, seal assemblies, anchors, nipples, injection mandrils, frac ports, and even including wellheads, frac heads, tubing hangers, or blow-out preventers (BOP’s).
These tools are designed for a working pressure rating of 15,000 PSI or 104 MPA, with a 3-1 safety factor built into that rating.
